What is NeedlyMat™?
NeedlyMat™ is an automatic needle-changing machine
whose purpose is to support with advanced procedures, based on artificial intelligence and
self-learning, the manteinance process of needle tables for needle-punching machines by
detecting damaged or bent needles and replacing them in total autonomy

* In case of non-standard tables, the pattern will be generated specifically.
NeedlyMat™ features a simple, multilingual user interface and is able to uniquely associate each operator to the tasks performed on each individual needle table.
NeedlyMat™ is compatible with all existing needle board patterns on the market.

NeedlyMat™ has the ability to send data, via the Internet, to a centralised processing system, in accordance with the Industry 4.0 model that regulates capital goods whose operation is controlled by computerised systems or managed through appropriate sensors and drives.
NeedlyMat™ performs needle analysis and replacement of damaged needles in an average time of one hour per board (estimated time for a 1300×360 mm board, with a density of 5000 needles/meter and a maximum of 1500 damaged needles).
NeedlyMat™ manages the inventory of needle boards and needles, and creates a comprehensive database of all operations performed in a given period. In addition, by processing the acquired data, it assigns each table its unique NMI, NeedlyMatIndex, which identifies its ‘health status’ in relation to its lifecycle.

RamaTex Italia Srl has been operating for 30 years in the needling machine sector for technical nonwoven fabrics, employed in various sectors, from automotive to geotextile. It is recognized as one of the companies with the most experience in the needling machine sector (unique in Italy in terms of product range, services offered, and experience).
In 2018, RamaTex Italia obtained an innovative patent for the production of “zero-friction” needling machines using magnetic levitation technologies; over the past 12 months, it has also been heavily involved in the development of NeedlyMat™, a machine that allows for the automation of needle table maintenance operations.
